Product Description

This microslide contains zircon sand made from the sedimentary gneiss that came from the Jack Hills, Yilgarn craton, Australia. The Jack Hills are located in the Narryer Gneiss Terrane of the Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia, and comprise an 80 km long northeast-trending belt of folded and metamorphosed supracrustal rocks.

The zircons from the Jack Hills have returned an official age of 4.404 billion years, interpreted to be the age of crystallization and so far are currently the oldest known terrestrial material on Earth.

Microslide Size: 75mm L X 25mm W X 4mm D, Microslide well size: 12mm Diameter.

Ships in a protective box with a Certificate of Authenticity and information.

Note: The zircons are relatively easy to see. There is enough material to fill up the microslide well. The material is free and not encased.
