This is an excellent polymetallic manganese nodule that is very dynamic, large, and well-formed. It has exceptional billowy mammatus features. Manganese nodules this size that are complete like this one are rare, and make a terrific addition to any geological collection.
Manganese nodules are the most widespread undersea mineral resource, composed mainly of manganese minerals, and are found in clumps that vary in size.
Size: 60mm H X 47mm W X 32mm D, Weight: 136.4 grams
Rare metals and important elements have been discovered in manganese nodules on various ocean floor systems worldwide. The following elements are present: manganese, iron, silicon, aluminum, nickel, copper, cobalt, oxygen, hydrogen, barium, potassium, titanium, other rare earths, and tellurium. The estimated age of these nodules is approximately 2-3 million years old.
Our manganese nodules were obtained in a scientific materials trade with a major university.
This polymetallic nodule ships with a Certificate of Authenticity, tag, tag stand, and information about the specimen. Large acrylic stand and photo cube are not included.
A professional XRF elemental assay metallurgical laboratory printout analysis is included with this order. The XRF analysis is consistent with other manganese nodules from the Clarion-Clipperton fracture zone.
Here is an opportunity to add a significant specimen to your geological collection!
