This manganese nodule has many interesting features, including a fragment lodged in its side. This is a very unusual feature for these nodules mined from the Pacific Ocean floor.
Size: 45mm L X 40mm W X 38mm D. Weight: 98.3 grams. This polymetallic nodule ships in a protective box with a Certificate of Authenticity, tag, tag stand, XRF, and information about the specimen. Cube and plexiglass base are not included. The pictures are of the front and back.
Rare metals and important elements have been found in manganese nodules discovered on various ocean floor systems throughout the world. The following elements have been demonstrated to be present, many of them strategic elements of industry. They include: manganese, iron, silicon, aluminum, nickel, copper, cobalt, oxygen, hydrogen, barium, potassium, titanium, rare earth, tellurium, and more. The estimated age of these nodules is about 3 million years old.
Our manganese nodules were obtained in a scientific materials trade with a major university.
A professional XRF elemental assay metallurgical laboratory printout analysis is included with this order. The XRF analysis is consistent with other manganese nodules coming from this region.
A great addition to any scientific collection!
