This is the "Ultimate Collection" of the Periodic Table of the Elements as a rock mineral collection. Each rock and mineral listed contains the elements it represents and the set is listed in the chronological order of the Periodic Table. This Periodic Table Elements Collection is professionally done and is a colorful, comprehensive Periodic Table of the Elements in rocks and minerals.
The elements represented in this rock mineral collection are: hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, sodium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, potassium, calcium, scandium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, gallium, germanium, arsenic, selenium, bromine, krypton, rubidium, strontium, yttrium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, cadmium, indium, tin, antimony, tellurium, iodine, xenon, cesium, barium, lanthanum, hafnium, tantalum, tungsten, rhenium, osmium, iridium, platinum, gold, mercury, thallium, lead, bismuth, radon, radium, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, thorium, and uranium.
There are many very rare, costly, and hard to find specimens included in this collection such as rheniite (rhenium - (Re) and is the most difficult metal to obtain in the world), gadolinite, and germanite, etc. There are some diverse specimens as well in this collection such as: rocks and minerals that contain strategic elements (critical minerals raw materials essential to commodities and technology) and even two meteorites. All specimens were specifically hand selected to make this accurate and thorough scientific collection of the periodic table.
This collection has 67 specimens representing 83 elements on the Periodic Table. The collection is already in a locking display case for easy viewing and security. The collection's box is cherry wood with glass and hanger on the back.
Each specimen has its own square with its rock or mineral name, its chemical formula which has underlined the element it pertains to, and its source of origin. It is clearly marked as to whether or not it is toxic. The Ultimate Collection of the Periodic Table of the Elements Guide is 100 pages long and includes information on each of the specimens covering the subjects: Date of Discovery of the Element; Points of Interest about the Element; Origin of the Name of the Element; Abundance of the Element in the Universe; Ranking of the Element in the Earth's Crust; Source Location of the Specimen; Valid known mineral species containing the Element; World Resource Risk Assessment of the Element; Health risks; and Radioactivity Level of the specimen ranked as: none, barely detectable, weak, mild, or strong. The radioactive specimens in this collection have been ranked barely detectable to mild. Trivia: your real granite countertops probably measure mild to strong, so relatively speaking you live with radioactivity constantly as it is a part of nature. Each element has a full page of all this information all in one place with the latest updated information!
Size: 18" W X 24" L X 2" D, Ship Weight: about 15 lbs.
Note: Specimens sizes vary from set to set but are similar in size and trim. In many cases the specimen names have been deleted in the shown pictures online due to propriety rights (and we have put 200 hours into researching it). When you order this product you will receive all the specimen information and also a fold-out guide.
The Periodic Table of the Elements Collection ships with an 11" X 17" fold-out laminated guide with the current 2020 version of the Periodic Table of the Elements, and an information guide about the elements and specimens selected. The guide has a significant amount of information about the specimens that comprise this collection and lends to a great diverse and creative platform for teaching about The Periodic Table of the Elements.
