This meteorite fell to Earth in 1947 on the Sikhote-Alin Mountains in eastern Siberia. This fall is unique in the history of meteorites because even though it was a large fall, the fragments from it were discovered to be diverse in shape and size. Some meteorites were twisted shrapnel-like fragments and/or with minor thumbprints or flow lines, like this meteorite.

Makes a great gift or something for yourself!

The Lore of Meteorites Meteorites are extraterrestrial visitors from the universe that have survived their fall through Earth's atmosphere to impact our planet. Historically they have been considered to be sacred stones from many cultures. Because of their fiery creation of plunging through Earth's skies they channel electrical intensity and bring out dormant spiritual fire. Stirring the hidden energy of the universe, they awaken creativity, imagination, and inner vision. They are also thought to provide a grounding and inner insight that is a call to action and focus.
