The surface of our mysterious neighbor Mars has been watched since early history. We have sent probes to the red planet but have not returned a single Mars rock. Only a tiny few meteorites have been discovered that appear to have been blasted off Mars before finding their way to Earth. If the theory of their origin is correct, these are the only real Mars rock samples available. This set presents 7 samples of rocks and minerals from Earth that are matched with the same types of rocks and minerals on Mars, known from spacecraft data. Students can now use these Earth analogues to study Mars in a more understandable way!
