Impact Breccia from the Ries-Nordlingen
Impact Crater in Germany
Product Description
Impact breccia is the result of large meteorite or asteroid impacts on Earth in the past. The rocks
at the target site are melted, shattered, and mixed during the impact explosion. When the site
finally settles and cools, a new composite rock - impact breccia - is the result. This is the grey variety
of Ries Impact Breccia, the same material used in the construction of the old town church.
Sample is 25 x 19 x 12mm and presented in a 1.25-inch hinged perky.
