The Nautilus, of the order Nautilus, is a tropical tetrabranchiate cephalopod with a multi-chambered, spiral shell. As the Nautilus grows, its shell structure describes a mathematical curve called a logarithmic spiral, which also approximates the "Fibonacci Number" series, or the so-called "golden ratio". Each Nautilus shell is cut cleanly in half to reveal the beautiful, pearlized interior. Each is 6-7 inches at at widest point, and sold by the cut half-shell.
