Milestones of Vertebrate Evolution Poster This incredible poster presents a lot of valuable information in an easily understood format. The main design is an "evolution tree" superimposed over a geological time chart. Along the left edge of the poster the major milestones in vertebrate evolution are shown and described. The milestones are marked on it to show the resulting animal clades (cladistics is the hierarchical classification of species based on evolutionary ancestry; cladistics generates diagrams called cladograms that represent the evolutionary tree of life. DNA and RNA sequencing data are used in many important cladistic efforts). The beginning and end of each branch shows when they lived; the thickness of the branch indicates their relative abundance or scarcity during each geological era. 119 species are shown, all in the proper era.
