Reproduction of the Statue of Gudea of Ur, Third Dynasty Gudea was a great Prince of Lagash. During his reign (about 2050 B.C.E.) he was a prolific builder, judge, and patron of the arts and literature.

The head and body of this diorite statue were found separately. It is an excellent example of the sculpture of the Sumerian Renaissance in Iraq during the Third Dynasty of Ur.
